Where can I find carob chips?

Where can you find carob chips? I want to make my little doggy some ice cream.

Chef's Answer ~ Besides purchasing them online, most health food stores should carry them. If you have the option, look for unsweetened carob chips. I hope this has helped! :)

Carob Chips for homemade dog treats
by: Kerragh

You can easily find carob chips at Whole Foods. You can buy just what you need in the bulk food section and it is quite economical.

Grocery store - natural aisle
by: Anonymous

I found carob chips in the natural aisle of a local grocery store. It was with the gluten-free foods, and oat flour, rice flour, etc. you have to look closely or ask for it though, because they only carried one brand. I did find it in both sweetened and unsweetened versions.

My dog can't have yogurt

by Catherine
(Wisconsin USA)

But what if my dog can't have any dairy products? His stomach can't take that or he has diarrhea. Is there a substitution?

Chef's Answer ~ Yes, you can use a non-dairy yogurt like soy yogurt.

Or, since these dog treats are frozen, you could substitute the yogurt for half chicken broth and half water. The treats won't be creamy like an ice cream, but your dog will get the delicious taste of a frozen dog treat and won't have any stomach upsets.

I hope this helps. Happy Dog Treat Baking! :)
