wheat flour or whole wheat flour?

Chillin in the Caribbean

Is there a difference and must we use "whole" as opposed to just "wheat" flour? Does it make a difference in the quality of the recipe? I can't seem to find whole, only wheat..Great Site! Thank you!

Chef's Answer ~ First of all, what an adorable picture of your dog taking in the warm water of the Caribbean! :)

Yes, there is a difference between wheat flour and whole wheat flour. It has to do with how it is milled, what they add or take away. However, it will not affect the quality of the dog treat recipe. If you come across whole wheat flour, it is preferred, because it has more nutritional value for yourself and your dog. But in the mean time, it will be fine to use wheat flour.

Happy Dog Treat Baking! And, thanks for sharing the picture! :)
