What would be a good substitute flour for the wheat flour in this recipe?

Chef's Answer ~ With most dog treat recipes, if you do not have whole wheat flour, you can use all purpose white flour. It is replaced one a 1 for 1 ratio.

If you want to substitute the whole wheat flour due to a wheat, gluten or grain allergy then I would recommend a blend of flours. For each cup of whole wheat flour that you are replacing, I would use 1/2 cup Garbanzo bean flour, 1/4 cup almond flour (also called almond meal) and 1/4 cup tapioca flour (also called tapioca starch).

Or, there are many gluten free flour blends already on the market that work well in most dog treat recipes.

I hope that helps! :)
