Chef's Answer ~ The small amount of peanut butter that is in most dog treat recipes, and in each individual treat should not cause any problems for a dog due to the amount of salt.

However, you can make your own homemade peanut butter salt free and sugar free very easily with my recipe.

You can also purchase salt and sugar free peanut butter.
