If I freeze home made dog treats, how long will they last after I thaw them?

I am looking at making a huge batch of dog cookies, but don't want them to go bad before my two little Yorkies get a chance to eat them! If I keep them in the freezer, how long can I keep them out thawed before they go bad? How long can I keep them in the freezer also before they go bad?

Thanks!

Chef's Answer ~ Well, the answer to your main question is that after you thaw your homemade dog treats, they will last the same amount of time as if you hadn't frozen them. For example if the recipe you are making says that they will last for 2 weeks in the refrigerator, then they will last about 2 weeks in the fridge after being thawed. Freezing is like stopping time for your dog treats, so you pick up the time once thawed. :)

You should be able to keep your dog treats in the freezer for several months. If you freeze them in a thick air tight freezer bag, they should stay fresh for as long as 6 months. This will vary, but that is as long as they should stay frozen and keep fresh.

I hope this helps, your Yorkies should be enjoying treats for a long time! :)
