Chef's Answer ~ After doing some quick research, it seems to be a safe spice for dogs.

However, it may have a laxative effect on dogs, so if you choose to use it in your dog cookies, make the amount very small in relation to the overall batch of cookies.

Remember, dogs have a fantastic sense of smell, if you use this spice, a very small amount will be appreciated by the nose of a dog.
