I need a carob recipe to decorate "paw's"

by Judy
(Colorado)

I need a recipe with carob to decorate the "paw" on a paw cookie. I have been using one and I get it all piped and when it dries, it comes off! Please help!

Chef's Answer ~ It may not be your carob recipe, but I would need to review it just in case.

Icing can peel away from decorated cookies for a number of reasons. One is that the cookie has not had a chance to completely cool from the oven.

Another reason dog treat icing may come off is because it was not moist enough when applied.

Although it's simple, my favorite carob icing is plain melted carob chips. Use the chips that have some added sugar and whey, they seem to melt better than the all-natural unsweetened version. Then slowly melt in your microwave, stirring after every 10 seconds.

Please let me know what recipe you are using and I'll see what else I can do for you.

Happy Dog Treat Baking! :)
