Dog Treat Icing that Dries Hard

Does this or any of your icing recipes dry to a hard consistency?

Chef's Answer ~ No, this icing does not dry hard. You may want, or be thinking of, a human icing called Royal Icing. It is primarily made out of powdered sugar, so if you are going to use it for your homemade dog treats, please limit the amount of icing per treat, or at least the limit the amount of decorated cookies your dog enjoys at one time.

You can find the royal icing recipe, or for our purposes, the dog treat icing recipe that hardens, here on a question that I answered for another website visitor.

Happy Dog Treat Baking (and Decorating)! :)
