Do you have any grain free cookies that are good for dogs with hyperglycemia?

My dog has pancreatic cancer. The vet said stay away from grains and products with sugar. The pancreatic cancer gives him low glycemia. Any suggestions?

Chef's Answer ~ First, be sure to check with your Vet regarding dog treat recipes that are given to your dog.

OK, if your vet said no grains, you can customize your homemade dog treats. Instead of using wheat flour, try brown rice flour or potato flour on a one for one ratio. You can easily keep sugars out of your dog treats by omitting white and brown sugars and molasses. But remember the sugars in bananas and honey may need to be avoided, too.

I hope this helps! :)

You Can Buy Grain Free Cookies NEW
by: Darwin Hasselhof

My dog has a grain allergy and we spend alot of time making our own food and treats. The food is pretty easy to come by but grain free treats are a bit tougher to come across. We found a site that has a bunch of grain free stuff that our dogs like. You may want to check out http://www.fidodogtreats.com/grain-free-dog-treats if you don't have time to bake your own stuff.
