Cranberry, Applesauce and Honey Delights

This is a tasty dog treat recipe for dogs, especially seniors who would benefit from a soft chew cookie;

2 cups of spelt flour
1/2 cup of oats
1/2 cup of dehydrated cranberries (I buy mine from the health food store or you can dehydrate your own)
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
4 teaspoons of unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon of honey
1/3 of a cup of water or as needed
1 egg for glazing

Combine spelt flour, oats and cranberries in a mixing bowl. Add cinnamon, applesauce, honey and water and mix thoroughly.

Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and use cookie cutter for desired shape. Because this is a soft cookie it might be a little difficult to remove shape and place in the baking pan. I usually add more flour to help with that.

whisk egg in a small bowl. Use pastry brush to apply egg glaze lightly to cookies before baking.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
