Can you suggest a good
homemade kibble base for my homemade dog food?

Hi there,

I have decided to start making my own dog food at home. After much research, I have come up with a great soft food consisting of ground chicken (or pork), lentils, carrots, peas and egg. I am looking into omega 3-6-9 supplements and my dog already takes acidophiles to control yeast. I was looking for a nice dry "kibble" recipe to serve the homemade food with. Hopefully something with rye/wheat flours and brown rice. Can you suggest a recipe that would work well with high protein/fiber levels of my wet mixture?

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Tarron and Chai

Chef's Answer ~ I'm happy to hear that you are taking such an active role in your dogs health. Unfortunately I specialize in treats, or occasional indulgences, not your dogs main diet. My best advice would be to talk to your holistic vet and to learn more about some of the wonderful organic and premium dry dog food and dry food mixes on the market. You may also want to sign up to one of the many homemade dog food forum groups online. I know it's not quite what you were looking for, but I hope it can help point you in the right direction.
