Side effects of beet chips?

I am beginning the journey of cooking my own dog food. Beets? They seem to arise some controversy and I don't know whether or not to use them in the dogs' meal? Are there any side effects like gas? Will it turn their poop red? Is it ok for all breeds?

Chef's Comments ~ Here at Dog Treat Kitchen.com we focus on making healthy dog treats, not your dog's everyday meals. These beet chips, served as an occasional treat, should not cause any side effects.

Your best bet is to talk to your Vet. Or, contact a Holistic Vet and discuss your concerns with her. She will also be a great source of information regarding making your own homemade dog food.
